Bah. This measure suffers from the same problem with defining the poverty line in America. It only takes annual income into account and ignores other productive assets.
It does put things into some kind of perspective knowing I'm richer than 6.1 billion other people on the planet. And I really haven't even been trying!
And is this household income or individual? That would certainly determine the difference for me between being a trophy husband or a card-carrying working stiff.
